How to use the volunteer board:

LPIN State, County, and College organizations are constantly working on various projects, and need some help. This is the place to find out how you can pitch in! LPIN organizations will post volunteer opportunities, and if one looks interesting to you, respond to the discussion post.

The Libertarian Party of Indiana is always in need of volunteers to work at community events or run for office. Be it managing a campaign, running for office yourself or simply helping to register people at one of our many events, the LPIN needs you.

2009 offers the party many opportunities to grow our membership, organize county affiliates and track legislation at the Statehouse. In 2010, we will be fighting to maintain our ballot access, while making our own renewed efforts to win seats in local and state office.

Email Executive Director Chris Spangle at LPIN HQ to let us know how you can participate in this exciting year. Let him know in which way you want to help:

Run for Office
Work on a Campaign
Host a Fundraiser
Organize an Event
Assist with a Local Event

However you can help, whatever time you can commit -- the investment is worthwhile and appreciated by everyone involved.

Having a professional looking web presence is important to many prospective voters. I can help out with hosting websites but I'm not a web designer. Help design a consistent brand for our candidates!

One of our problems is the goldfish syndrome. Goldfish lose their memory every 7 seconds. We lose ours every seventh month. As you work your area the next few months, please jot down important events that other (and future) candidates should attend, and groups or organizations they should know. I am going to collect this information at state for the future. This will be much appreciated.

I have done just that. As a county council candidate, I was able to get myself in the South Bend Tribune, and post election coverage got me on the front page of the Plymouth Pilot just this past Saturday with a very nice article. I have also been on the radio, and gotten good coverage from one of the local am radio stations. Media connections are going strong in north-central Indiana at this moment, and I'm hoping to continue to strengthen them.

Best thing to do is make friends with them. Maguire and Rutheford in Indy kept guilting me when I wouldn't book Libertarians on our talk radio show. They could do it because they became my friends, and look where I am at now! lol.

I ran for office in the last election, and right now I'm busy working over the media. I'm running again in two years.
